Online therapy across Alberta.

Alberta clients come to us most often for individual therapy, sports psychology (Alberta-based athletes and former athletes from junior hockey, university, and professional pipelines), trauma work, and couples therapy navigating relocation or career-driven separation.

Our CRPO-registered therapists can serve clients in Alberta subject to applicable interprovincial practice frameworks. We confirm regulatory fit during intake.

01

Why virtual therapy works in Alberta.

  • Built for rotation and shift work. Calgary, Edmonton, and Fort McMurray workers on two-week-on two-week-off rotations need a clinician who can hold continuity across rotation gaps. Virtual sessions adapt to the schedule, not the other way around.
  • Industry-aware clinical work. Oil and gas downturns, energy transition uncertainty, and the boom-bust cycle are not background context in Alberta. They are clinical material, and we treat them as such.
  • Mountain Time scheduling without the drive. Alberta runs two hours behind Toronto, so a five o'clock finish in Calgary or Edmonton lines up with our therapists' evening calendars. And outside the Calgary-Edmonton corridor, the nearest right-fit clinician can be hours of highway away. Virtual sessions close that distance.
  • Privacy in industries where everyone knows everyone. Energy, agriculture, and ranching networks are tight. Working with a clinician based out-of-province offers genuine privacy for senior leaders and partners who would otherwise see clients in the next chair at a corporate event.

Mental health in Alberta specifically.

Alberta has been hit hard by the boom-and-bust cycles of the oil and gas industry, and the mental health load that comes with it, layoffs, relocations, long rotations away from family, and the quiet pressure to keep performing through it all. Our therapists work with clients in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, and across the province, including a meaningful number of professionals in finance, energy, healthcare, and education. We also see athletes from Alberta-based programs and an increasing number of executives navigating relocation grief, which is a real and under-named experience. Alberta rewards people who keep moving, and many of our Alberta clients have carried a hard season at full speed for years before they book. Therapy is where the pace finally drops.

Where in Alberta we work.

Calgary, Alberta

Calgary

Energy head offices, finance, professional services, and athletes from the WHL, NHL, and university programs. We see a meaningful number of executives navigating restructuring and the identity questions that come with it.

Edmonton, Alberta

Edmonton

Provincial government, the University of Alberta and university hospital system, education, and trades-adjacent leadership. Public-sector and healthcare workloads follow people home here, and a therapist with no connection to the local system is often exactly the point.

Red Deer, Alberta

Red Deer and central Alberta

Agriculture, oilfield services, and small-business owners who carry the financial weight of an entire family operation. Red Deer sits halfway between Calgary and Edmonton, but a weekly drive to either rarely survives a working schedule. Virtual sessions do.

Lethbridge and southern Alberta

University faculty, agriculture, healthcare, and Indigenous community work where culturally aware care matters. In the smaller centres of the south, the nearest counsellor can also be someone you know from town, and working with an out-of-province clinician removes that overlap entirely.

Fort McMurray and the regional rotation workforce

Rotation grief, family-of-origin distance, and the specific exhaustion of camp work held over years. Sessions can move with your rotation instead of lapsing every time the schedule flips.

We also work with clients in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, St. Albert, Medicine Hat, Grande Prairie, Airdrie and the surrounding communities.

Insurance and coverage in Alberta.

Alberta Blue Cross is the most recognizable Alberta-specific plan and processes our receipts on standard mental-health coverage. Sun Life, Manulife, and Canada Life are common with energy-sector employer plans. Many Alberta employers in oil and gas have generous mental health benefits but require the specific designation "Registered Psychotherapist" or "psychotherapy" to appear on the receipt, which is exactly how we invoice. If your plan only lists "psychologist," it may not reimburse our sessions; we are upfront about this before you book. Please double-check with your insurance provider.
