Build the connection you have been searching for.
Every relationship goes through difficult seasons. Sometimes the communication breaks down so gradually that you do not notice until you feel like strangers. Sometimes a specific event shatters the trust you built together. Sometimes you love each other but cannot seem to stop hurting each other.
Couples therapy is not a sign of failure. It is a sign that you both care enough to do the hard work of rebuilding. Our couples therapists provide a structured, safe environment where both partners feel heard and both partners are challenged to grow.
Virtual couples therapy makes it easier for both partners to attend, even with different schedules, different locations, or the logistical challenges that make in-person sessions difficult.
Who this is for.
- Couples experiencing communication breakdowns, frequent conflict, or emotional disconnection.
- Partners navigating a betrayal of trust, including infidelity.
- Couples going through major life transitions such as becoming parents, career changes, relocation, or blending families.
- Partners who love each other but feel stuck in unhealthy patterns they cannot break on their own.
- Couples considering separation who want to explore all options before making a decision.
- Partners who want to strengthen an already good relationship and deepen their connection.
Our approach.
Our couples therapists use evidence-based approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, adapted to your specific relationship dynamics. These approaches focus on understanding the emotional patterns that drive conflict, rebuilding secure attachment between partners, and developing practical communication skills.
In couples therapy, your therapist is not on anyone's side. They are on the side of the relationship. Both partners will be challenged to look at their own patterns, take responsibility for their contributions, and make changes that serve the relationship.
We integrate cultural awareness into our couples work, recognising that relationship expectations, communication styles, and family dynamics are deeply influenced by cultural background.
What to expect in session.
Your first session typically includes both partners together. Your therapist will listen to both perspectives, understand the history of your relationship, and identify the patterns that are keeping you stuck. In some cases your therapist may schedule individual sessions with each partner early in the process.
Sessions are 50 minutes and conducted via secure video. Both partners can join from the same device or separate devices. We recommend weekly sessions initially to build momentum.
Couples therapy is not always comfortable. You may hear things that are hard to hear. But it is in that discomfort that real change happens. Your therapist will ensure that both partners feel safe throughout the process.
